Radio and Television

Since almost 100% of the population has access to both of them, we could say that radio and television are perhaps the most used communication networks. Their transmission system is based on electromagnetic waves, which are sent from a transmitting station to a receptor one. Radio waves can be distinguished according to their frequencies, what is to say, according to the number of times that the wave vibrates per second.

    In Spain, since the year 2010, digital transmission has substituted the analogical one, due to the great advantages that the former offers when compared with the latter. On the one hand,  while in the analogical system the quality of the reception is highly influenced by the distance between the transmitter and the receptor, the climatic conditions, and the interferences often produced by the saturation of the radio-electric space, in the digital transmission system the quality of the reception is always quite good. On the other hand, when we use the digital transmission, television and radio can offer parallel services, such as the Teletext, the Guide Plus or Programming Guide, Digital Services (entertainment, information...), etc.
